Firing an Elephant Gun while riding a horse would make you feel like a cavarly. For the best part, horses are just gorgeous to have around. Plenty of inventory, 2 stun dices, good dice colors for challenges, and deals straight damage. Crew members in Curious Expedition do not have personalities. Horse is probably the most vanila animal there is, but a really strong one at that.

This is different from REIS where you have scouts and scientists and such, but each individual scout and individual scientist is also unique.

The closest curious expedition comes to this is you can sometimes pay natives to fight for you, or use the dice challenge system to resolve a handful of encounters without fighting.
